A Look at Rusty
Born at Brattleboro Memorial Hospital in 1975, and raised in Wilmington, Rusty has been a resident of Vermont his entire life. He has always been dedicated to his family and community.
Rusty has been a volunteer firefighter in multiple towns in Windham County over the last 35 years and spent several years as a Brattleboro Town Meeting Rep.
In 1997 Rusty enlisted into the U.S. Army and spent 6 years active duty with a permanent duty assignment in the 10th Mountain Division at Fort Drum, NY. He deployed numerous times including 1998 Ice Storm relief and in 1999 to Bosnia-Herzegovina as a member of Operation Joint Forge; part of NATO's Stabilization Forces.
Upon his honorable discharge from the Army, Rusty was hired as a full time firefighter with the Brattleboro Fire Department serving until 2021 attaining the rank of Lieutenant. He also spent several years as Chief of the Marlboro Volunteer Fire Company.
Rusty currently owns and operates his own landscaping business out of Brattleboro
What's Next for Rusty
Rusty is ready to move his civic responsibilities to a higher level as your next Vermont Senator from Windham County. He truly believes that a more equal congress is needed in Montpelier.
A law passed without having to overcome opposition will never be a strong or just law, as was seen during the Democratic Supermajority.
